FIRST PLACE STOCK MARKET GAME TEAM . . .

OUR FUTURE MILLIONAIRES

This spring, students in Mrs. Klinsky's Consumer Education class participated in the Stock Market Game, sponsored by EconomicsPennsylvania.  The BVA group placed first in the Spring Competition for Grades 9-12 and were honored at a luncheon held at Indiana University of Pennsylvania on May 19.

Cindy Morgan, Field Consultant for First Commonwealth Center for Economic Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, was the hostess of the function and coordinator for the various teams around Pennsylvania.   Keynote speakers at the luncheon included Representative Frank Burns, who placed first in the State-Wide Legislative Challenge.  Representative Donna Oberlander also addressed the students about her experience with the game.

Each group chose a representative to speak to the attendees.  Jessica Leadbitter spoke for the BVA team and shared her team's advice.  All the participants agreed that it was a very worthwhile learning activity, as well as fun.  They all agreed that, when investing in the stock market, one must research first and then have patience.
