PURPOSE

The purpose of MIC/SADD is to promote career exploration in the medical field, to promote community service, and to educate students regarding the consequences of destructive decisions related to alcohol and drugs.

MEMBERSHIP

MIC/SADD is designed for any senior or junior student wishing to join. The fee for joining the club is $10.  All members receive a MIC/SADD t-shirt, which is worn at special events.

MIC/SADD meets Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 pm two times a month to discuss upcoming events and to plan activities for the club.

There will not be an overnight MIC/SADD Trip this year.  There may be a one-day trip in the Spring.  This will be determined at a later date based on how the club members conduct themselves at meetings, field trips, etc.  Last school year, MICV/SADD went to PNC Park.  It was an enjoyable event.  If the sole reason you wish to join MIC/SADD is for the overnight trip, you may want to join another club at school.  There is one mandatory fundraiser in the fall.

If you are interested in running for an office, please submit a letter along with your application.  The letter should state why you would be a good candidate for the office.  If you already hold offices in other clubs, please do not run for an office in MIC/SADD.  It is only fair to the members of MIC/SADD that the officers are able to devote their time and efforts to the club.  Elections are held at the end of September.  You must let Mrs. McCullough know prior to that meeting of your intention to run for an office.  The offices are President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Only Seniors may run for offices.

MIC/SADD is very proud of its accomplishments.  As a member, you will learn, you will help, and you will have fun.
